It's crazy to go through all the effort of creating the best design and theme only to put other people's content in there. Aside from the fact that readers like fresh and new, search engines also like fresh and new. And the spiders don't exactly enjoy picking up something on your site that they've encountered on others'. In other words, when it comes to content, original is the best.
